This was in 1994 – From the book: “After a week of camping and fishing, we headed back to Bill’s place. After dinner, I was sharing my situation in San Jose when the phone rang. My sister-in-law Lynn said, “Amtrak is looking for you. Apparently, you gave them our home phone number.”

Jim Adams in Los Angeles was on the other end of the call and said, “I know you have been putting in multiple job transfer applications to go back east. But Amtrak would like for you to consider a position down in San Diego.”

Now 27 years later – I am back at Caddo Lake for a reunion to thank my brother’s and sister during my journey.
